MARTY HOFMANN.

Marty Hofmann is the guy who believes showing up beats talent, consistency trumps intensity, and your choices matter more than your credentials. He’s unapologetically direct, deeply rooted in faith, and convinced that most people aren’t failing—they’re just succeeding at mediocrity. He doesn’t sugarcoat the hard stuff because he’s lived it: the tension between providing and being present, the pull of comfort over calling, the slow drift that almost cost him everything that mattered.

At his core, Marty Hofmann is a builder—not just of businesses and portfolios, but of lives lived on purpose. He’s the friend who asks the hard questions, the voice reminding you that “good enough” isn’t good enough, and the proof that you can build wealth, raise a family, and honor God without sacrificing what matters most. Through the Kill Complacency podcast and movement, he’s helping thousands break free from autopilot living and build lives anchored in faith, family, and purpose.

a real estate investor, podcast host, speaker, and father of 6 who refuses to let success become an excuse for complacency.

THE BEGINNING.

THE FARM KID

Iowa

Growing up as the 4th of 10 kids on an Iowa farm, Marty Hofmann learned to work before he learned to dream big. At six years old, he was walking beans for 50 cents an hour. By his teens, he’d done every kind of hard labor imaginable—scooping manure, loading semis, operating tractors.

FRONTIER BIBLE COLLEGE & THE FOUNDATION

LaGrange, Wyoming.

After high school, Marty attended Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming. What started as a one-year plan to “get grounded” turned into four years that changed everything. There, he met Ginger—his future wife—and built the faith foundation that would anchor every decision that followed. They married, started growing their family (they now have seven kids), and Marty spent eight years in youth ministry while simultaneously building a sheep and alpaca shearing business.

YOUTH MINISTRY & SHEARING YEARS

Montana

The shearing work was brutal but lucrative—Marty could make enough in three months of travel to budget for the whole year. Over 27 years, he sheared over 40,000 sheep and 25,000 alpacas across the country. But the cost of being on the road was taking its toll. Ginger was holding everything together alone—raising their growing family, managing the household, carrying the weight while he was gone for weeks at a time. The financial provision was there, but his presence wasn’t. Marty faced a choice: keep chasing income or come home and be the husband and father his family needed. He chose his family.

REAL ESTATE & REINVENTION

Oklahoma

Marty gave up the travel and pivoted into real estate. Working HVAC, flipping houses, and learning as he went, he built a $16 million portfolio over the next decade—not by working harder, but by working smarter and staying present for the people who mattered. He jokes that if someone who scored a fourteen on the ACT can build millions through intentionality, anyone can. He founded REI MindXet, a community helping others transform their lives through real estate investing.

THE KILL COMPLACENCY MOVEMENT

Oklahoma

At forty, after witnessing countless people trapped in the drift—successful on paper but empty inside—Marty launched the Kill Complacency podcast. In a culture screaming “comfort first,” he created a space for raw conversations with people who refused to settle. After hundreds of conversations, he knew the message needed to go deeper. Kill Complacency: Stop Drifting & Start Living The Life God Designed For You (launching April 2026) became his answer: a complete framework for breaking free from autopilot and building a life that actually matters.

TODAY.

Today, Marty is a real estate investor, podcast host, speaker, marathon runner, and father of six. Based in Oklahoma, his mission is simple: transform the world one heart at a time by helping people recognize complacency before it’s too late.
